UPS announced on Aug 8, 2019 that its services for pharmaceutical shipping in Germany are Good Distribution Practice certified by DQS.
GDP of medicinal products for human use
Unlike typical packages, healthcare packages containing pharmaceuticals or medical devices require the highest of standards for handling and transporting. The EU’ guideline for Good Distribution Practice (GDP) of medicinal products for human use [2013/C 343/01] sets minimum requirements to minimize risk for medical products during transport and storage for wholesalers and logistics companies.
This GDP certification is based on a series of criteria, including quality control, employee training, security, internal inspection procedures, and cleanliness of facilities. This certificate serves as proof that UPS and its entire chain of supply are of a high standard, and is well-suited to transport drugs and other medical devices.
UPS is a global leader in logistics delivering to over 220 countries. Offering a broad range of solutions including the transportation of packages and freight, the facilitation of international trade, and the deployment of advanced technology to more efficiently manage the world of business.
